Forty years ago, a kid from Boston named Sully opened a burger joint on Main Street and accidentally built a Sarasota institution. Patrick's 1481 has been earning its place at the table ever since.
A Boston Dream Lands in Sarasota
Sully grew up in Boston loving the restaurant business, then honed his craft across Sarasota before opening exactly the place he'd always envisioned: great food, warm room, door open to everyone.
The Kress Building Years
In 1985, Sully opened Patrick's in the historic Kress Building on Main Street. Best Burger accolades followed quickly, Deal Tables filled with regulars, and snowbirds made Patrick's their first stop back every year.
Home at 1481 Main
When Patrick's moved to 1481 Main, everything that mattered made the trip — the award-winning menu, creative cocktails, and the hospitality that turned first-timers into regulars.
Four Decades of Real Regulars
"I have watched their children grow, and they have watched mine," Sully says of his team — and the same goes for his guests. First dates became marriages here; some regulars have held the same barstool for thirty-plus years.
